Learn Medical Spanish in Bogota Colombia as you Intern or Volunteer at a hospital

This program is open to all qualified Doctors/Nurses or Medical Students. The minimum period is two weeks. The program is open during the academic year, and closed during vacations

The Medical Spanish and Medical practical program is based at the prestigious Universidad Los Andes, and its adjoining teaching hospital in Bogota. You will be improving your general Spanish within the international Studies department at the University, and your medical Spanish within the environs of both the Universities medical faculty and also the teaching hospital. This is a bespoke program with. Your medical co-coordinator with your input will customise your program so that you can take full advantage of the excellent Medical Faculty department. Concurrently, you will be able to join rotations within the University Hospital that is attached to the University.
The course consists of 30 hours per week. 15 hours of Spanish lessons and 15 hours of training at the University Hospital. Lessons from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 m. and training at the Hospital from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
This is an excellent program, that runs in a very similar manner to Medical Faculties in the USA and Europe.

Registration: One off fee of $20

Program price:  One month $2000USD, 2 months $3800USD, 3 months $5800USD, additional months are $1500 per month

Accommodation options:

Host family: Stay with an Colombian family and be received  as a member of the household. With the home-stay the student can expect: Participation in the family life with the opportunity to consistently practice the Spanish that is learned in class. A Private room inside the house of the family. Meals: breakfast, and dinner. $120 per week.

Apartments: We are aware of how important it is for you to be accommodated in well situated, quality apartments located in safe neighbourhoods. This is why we are always ready to help you to find a great apartment if you are coming for two months or more. Rental of an apartment must be negotiated directly between the student and the landlord. Prices are around $1200 per month

Hotels: We have agreements with hotels. There are hotels for all budgets ranging from US$20 per night to 5-star hotels. The hotels that we recommend are always well located and they have been recommended by past students, regardless of the hotel’s price. We have also contacts with very good B&B (Bed & breakfast).
