Learn Medical Spanish in Bocas Del Toro Panama as you Intern or Volunteer at a hospital

This program is open to all Medical professionals.  The minimum period for medical professionals is two weeks, and for an internship is four weeks

This medical Spanish program is  for medical professionals  or medical students who want to improve their Spanish to improve their communication with their Spanish speaking patients. Your medical Spanish will be private (one on one) classes. You can supplement these classes with additional general Spanish classes if you wish.
Your placement is at the local hospital. Bocas Del Toro is a group of islands, and therfore this small hospital  is the only one in the area and as such deals with all medical conditions. The hospital is 'basic' by modern western standards, and is an excellent opportunity to see how the medical profession operates in other parts of the world. You can normally participate in rotations, and other parts of your placement depend on your level of medical experience.  

Registration: One off fee of $20

Program price: 20 hours of one on one private Medial Spanish lessons per week, combined with volunteering or internship at the local hospital: $250 per week OR 20 hours per week consisting of 10 hours group general Spanish and 10 hours private one on one Medical Spanish $200 per week.

Accommodation option:

Host Family: Stay with an local Panamanian family and be received  as a member of the household. With the home-stay the student can expect: Participation in the family life with the opportunity to consistently practice the Spanish that is learned in class. A Private room inside the house of the family. Meals: breakfast.

School stay If you like to be independent, yet want to share with fellow students, we recommend staying at the school. We have 3 rooms that can be shared by 2 students and one room to be shared by 3 students. There is also the option of paying a little more you can have your private room. The bathrooms are always shared. We also have a shared kitchen to your disposal and a communal space where students can study, chat or watch TV together.

Private Room $105 per week

Apartment:. A three bedroom apartment perfect for families, or people travelling together. Self contained and Includes cleaning service.
Price $250 per week or $850 per month

Hotel stay There are various hotels in Bocas to choose from. Most are all at walking distance from the school and hosptial. You can make arrangements yourself or ask us to help you.
